Amann Girrbach AG - Introducing the new Ceramill Therm CS.

One furnace. All possibilities.

Amann Girrbach, a pioneer and one of the leading innovators in the field of dental CAD/CAM technology, is expanding the range of applications for the Ceramill Therm DRS to include the safe and efficient crystallization of lithium disilicate restorations.
As part of this expansion, the furnace is being renamed to Ceramill Therm CS. An overview of the key new features:

• 4-in-1 functionality in a single device: high-speed sintering of zirconia restorations, crystallization of lithium disilicate restorations, glazing, and pre-drying all in a single furnace.
• Expanded material variety and validated process reliability for even greater flexibility in the lab and in the clinical work-flow.
• For existing customers: The existing Ceramill Therm DRS can be upgraded with the crystallization function using the new “Crystallization Upgrade Kit Therm DRS.”
• For new customers: The Ceramill Therm CS is delivered with the crystallization function already integrated and factory-calibrated.
• The new Ceramill Therm CS will be available from August onwards.

“With the Ceramill Therm CS, we are consistently expanding the capabilities of our digital workflow for dental practices and la-boratories and helping users efficiently and reliably produce an even wider range of highly aesthetic restorations.” Jörg Hasel-bauer, Head of Product Management

The launch of the Ceramill Therm CS marks another step in Amann Girrbach’s efforts to make digital workflows for dental practices and laboratories simpler, faster, and more cost-effective. The new system builds on the proven technology of the Ceramill Therm DRS and adds a key feature: In addition to high-speed sintering of zirconia crowns, lithium disilicate crowns can now also be crystallized in about 15 minutes. The high quality of the results matches that of traditional ceramic furnaces and brings out the full aesthetic potential of the material. Both dental practices and laboratories thus benefit equally from expanded indications, high processing speed, and greater flexibility in the fabrication of highly aesthetic restorations.

Rapid crystallization, comprehensively validated.
To ensure the safety and quality of the restorations, the new crystallization function has been comprehensively validated. The tests were conducted both internally and in collaboration with the Materials Science Research Group at the Department of Dental Prosthetics at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Medical Center.
Particular attention was paid to bringing the material properties relevant to lithium disilicate restorations up to the level of conventional furnaces, despite the vacuum-free process in the Ceramill Therm CS.
To this end, the restorations were extensively tested according to current scientific standards. The parameters examined included, among others, strength, fracture and crack toughness, as well as stress tests using chewing simulation. The results clearly show that lithium disilicate restorations crystallized in the Ceramill Therm CS are in no way inferior to those produced by the conventional crystallization process in traditional furnaces in terms of their relevant material properties and performance.
Users thus benefit from significantly faster processing without having to compromise on quality, safety, or aesthetics.

Maximum flexibility for existing and new customers.
Amann Girrbach offers the new technology in two versions. Customers who already own a Ceramill Therm DRS can expand their existing system with the new “Crystallization Upgrade Kit Therm DRS.” This is done via a software update available exclusively as part of the upgrade kit. To activate the new functionality, a calibration firing is performed to precisely adjust the temperature to the required process parameters.

The components required for this, including temperature control rings and a measuring caliper, are also included in the kit. In addition, detailed instructions and a video tutorial are available to guide users through the calibration process and ensure safe commissioning.

For new customers, the Ceramill Therm CS is available with the crystallization function already factory-calibrated and fully inte-grated. As a result, users benefit from a particularly simple and ready-to-use solution.

“With the Ceramill Therm CS, we’re making modern dentistry even more efficient. Our customers can process different materials with just one device, saving time, space, and investment costs.” Abdo Salem, Vice President of Marketing & Services
